Results at COTA Nats 2014

The US Vintage Racing National Championships at Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas proved to be a successful showing for Ignite Performance and two of its customers. Chris Thompson in his 1970 Datsun 240Z and Rick Nichols in his 1972 Datsun 240Z both made very strong showings with Thompson winning both the Sprint and Enduro events and Nichols pulling fastest lap in the Enduro. A true race ensued between both of them in the sprint race with Nichols losing a half shaft with one lap to go after sparring nicely every lap. No one in class could touch them. Nichols being the generous fellow he is, loaned a set of tires to Thompson before the sprint race and in hindsight might have wished he didn’t as the rubber might have been the difference in the end. Once again Ignite Performance showed up at a National event with strong drivers and cars with the results speaking for themselves.
